Match: a new full-length romantic comedy….

“Match” is a new small-cast romantic comedy. Here an older woman and an older man meet for dinner through an online dating service.

Both previously in long-term relationships, the world of online dating is new to Alice and Dave. Amusingly, the two stumble through their dating protocols, not exactly sure how to proceed; nor exactly sure what each wants at this stage in life.

Both previously in long-term relationships, are Alice and Dave now again looking for long-term relationships? Or are they just looking for a diverting night out? Are they looking for companionship? Are they looking for sex?

As “Match” progresses, Alice and Dave realize that they have not answered these questions. What am I doing dating like a 19-year old, each wonders? Is that appropriate for me at this time in my life? What does “dating” even mean?

And what about the deep life compromises that each made in their prior long-term relationships? Are they going to jump into those compromises again?

“Match” is funny, insightful and moves quickly. There are two great parts for older actors. If you are a theater artist interested in reading this new script, please contact the author.
